Happy New Moon!

“Take a step back and look inward. The new moon of December 28 & 29th, closes the curtain on 2016 – for better or worse. This new moon offers a potent dose of reflection on what we have gained and lost this last year, and plants a seed of determination for positive growth in the year to come.

In Vedic Astrology, the new moon falls in the area of the sky called Purva Ashadha, which is said to hold the undefeatable power of the human spirit. Among these stars lies an infinite wellspring of energy that flows outward from the section of the sky called the galactic center.  These stars are part of the constellation of Sagittarius – the fierce archer with perfect aim – who inspires us to explore new realms and realize our dreams.

Purva Ashadha is also symbolized by an elephant tusk and is blessed by the Hindu elephant god, Ganesha, who is revered as the “Remover of Obstacles.” This new moon has a special ability to break through blockages and transform old habits.

The weeks to come carry a heavy weight for world karma. Mars and Venus have joined Neptune and Ketu – the tail of the transformational Snake of Time.  This alignment could cause powerful shifts on a collective level and create confusing and possibly inflammatory situations.  Try to be extra patient with those around you, and don’t hesitate to reach out to those who may need support.

This is the final new moon of the year and the weeks to come will offer a unique momentum.  Make use of this potent time to dissolve the past and realign yourself with your dreams of the future.”

Happy Full Moon!

“The December 13-14 Full Moon falls in the airy sign of Gemini and will be culminating events, feelings and emotions that took place around the Sagittarius New Moon back in November. This Full Moon is actually another Super Moon that has been part of a series focused on bringing illumination to the world.

Whatever has been buried beneath the surface of your life has most likely come to a head in the last few months and this last Super Moon is going to bring the final point of illumination for 2016.

This is extremely powerful energy which is going to be helping you to purge all that you need to let go of so you can welcome in the new energy of 2017 with open arms and a fresh perspective.

2016 has been a heavy year of endings and letting go, whereas 2017 is a year that is set to be full of new beginnings and fresh starts.

This December Full Moon is now going to be one of your final assessment points where you will be able to review what you have learned and what you are going to be bringing with you into the new cycle.

If you really feel ready to shed, if you really feel a desire to release and let go, if you really feel a desire to transform into your absolute and fullest potential, if you are ready for this, the Universe will offer you an invitation.

Pay attention to what comes up for you around this Full Moon. Whatever lessons or themes you have been working with for the last year will most likely rise up into full consciousness and by being aware and ready to release, you will be able to access this energy.

Be gentle with yourself around this time and give yourself space to fully reflect and let go. Work on nourishing yourself under this Full Moon and enjoy the amazing illuminating energy it brings.”

“It’s time to step into the fire and shed your deepest fears. On November 14, 2016 (5:52 AM PST), the largest, brightest supermoon since 1948 will set the night sky ablaze, igniting the fires of truth and burning the embers of our collective doubt and shame. This epic supermoon, known in Vedic Astrology as the Full Moon of Kartika Purnima, promises to incinerate the shadows of fear and confusion, shining its super-charged light into the darkest corners of our psyche. Venerated in India as the day when Lord Shiva, the destroyer, slayed the fierce demon Tripurasura, this Full Moon has the power to purify our souls and inspire unprecedented levels of creativity. Falling in the area of the sky known as Krittika, where the fire god Agni dwells, this supermoon will burn up all that no longer serves. Now is the time to let our grief and anger rise to the surface, so that it can be seen and dissolved. Light cannot prevail until the darkness has been unveiled. Krittika has long been associated with the fire of clarity, as well as with the rage of war-like Mars. Symbolized by a sharp blade that pierces through delusion–sometimes to shocking effect–Krittika is the star of the determined spiritual warrior. Under its influence, the light of truth never backs down. Krittika can be found in the astrological charts of some our most inspiring teachers and activists. Lay your shame and fear at the altar of this once-in-a-lifetime supermoon, and watch as its embers ignite a revolution of the soul.” ~Kari Field, excerpt from Anandashree Astrology

Happy New Moon!

new-moon-art-by-lucy-campbell

“The October 30th New Moon falls in the dreamy and introspective sign of Scorpio. Even though Scorpio energy can be deep and dark, there is a way to channel this energy into something productive and even, magical.

In fact, the energy of this New Moon has a high creative and supernatural charge to it and we will all be guided to go deep within, so we can remind ourselves about who we really are.

There has been a lot of cleansing and releasing energy in the Universe this year, and while October’s New Moon will be asking us to go deep, it will be asking us to venture deeper than our problems and deeper than our fears, all the way into the heart of our soul.

This transformative energy is gentle, supportive and calming. It will be reminding us to nurture and care for ourselves. It will also be reminding us that sometimes the greatest healing we can offer ourselves is our own true love.

Scorpio energy supports us to dive deep into our imagination and intuition. Use the force of this New Moon to travel within and get lost in the fairytales of your mind. Use the energy to inspire your creative visions and to expand your intuition.

The New Moon also falls just one day before All Hallows Eve, making the Scorpio New Moon even more magical.

Halloween is a time when the veil between dimensions is thinnest and this New Moon will definitely be amplifying this energy.

The Scorpio New Moon will also allow us to take a journey into the underworld. The underworld is our subconscious and the deeper, darker, more intuitive side of who we are. It is when we are in this place that we can truly understand the power and magnificence of our own light.

If you allow the energy of the Scorpio New Moon in, you are going to be able to feel your soul; you are going to be able to feel your energy on a powerful level and you are going to be able to transform yourself with the power of your own love.

The October New Moon is beautiful, magical and supportive, so allow its energy to guide you. Allow yourself to be taken by the energy and see where you travel to.”

“If you’ve been feeling anxious and ungrounded as of late, you are not alone. It may have been a rocky couple of weeks, but keep the faith: the Full Moon of Oct 15, 2016 (9:23 PM PT) will shower the planet with a much-needed dose of healing light, ushering in a new era of harmony and abundance, and dispelling the shadows of fear and doubt. Known in India as Sharad Purnima, this Full Moon is said to open a portal to Lakshmi, Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. Lakshmi’s divine feminine influence, or shakti, will infuse the moon’s bright rays, detoxifying our bodies and increasing the flow of wealth in our lives. If the universe has seemed to be holding back, or it’s felt like you’re running in place, this month’s Full Moon will provide just the remedy. Positioned at the very last degree of the sidereal Zodiac, this Full Moon transits the tip of Pisces’s tail, the starknown as Revati. While Revati’s primary influence inspires love and harmony–and shepherds lost animals home–give yourself a healthy dose of compassion, as it may also bring up feelings of discomfort. With its position at 29 degrees Pisces, this Full Moon falls at the cusp of radical change. At ten p.m., just 40 minutes after the moon reaches its peak of fullness, it will cross into a celestial twilight zone known as gandanta. This unpredictable cusp position could set off a series of strange or unexpected events, particularly with the influence of fiery Mars and moon’s conjunction with Uranus, known for delivering shocks. But those shocks will feel minor as compared with the host of positive changes and new opportunities ushered in by the Revati Full Moon. If you’ve been feeling the heat since last month’s eclipse, you’ll soon get some relief. Prepare to welcome in a new era of abundance and prosperity, and ride the wave of uncertainty until you reach the next level.” ~Kari Field, AnandaShree Astrology

Happy New Moon in Libra!

moon-journey

“A Black Moon occurs when two new moon’s fall in the same month. On September 30th, the New Moon will peak in Libra.

To have two New Moon’s in one month signifies a very powerful blossoming process and one that has probably been in the works for some time.

September’s Black Moon is filled with positive aspects and plenty of opportunities. In fact, the entire week leading up to the Black Moon and the days that follow it, are going to be extremely positive and peaceful.

The energy of this Black Moon is so supported by the other planets and it is very likely we will all be experiencing great epiphanies, opportunities and even, miracles.

In fact, this Black Moon is going to deliver an extremely positive force, helping us to manifest all of our greatest dreams, wishes and desires.

If you have been looking to change or shift something in your life, if you have been building new ideas or projects, this Black Moon is really going to give you an amazing push in the right direction.

Whatever has been troubling you, whatever has been shrouded in doubt and confusion may also become clearer to you around the time of this Black Moon.

If you are in doubt about anything in your life, you may find it beneficial to wait to see what energies and what opportunities the Black Moon brings you.

2016 is really a year of endings, and the recent Eclipses in September have definitely highlighted what needs to be released and what needs to be ended.

Now, this Black Moon is going to be helping us all to awaken to these endings, accept them and perhaps also feel liberated by them.

Overall, the Black Moon is going to bring an extremely positive force and is going to help all of us to change directions in our lives in some way.

This is definitely a welcomed change and one that is going to help us finally bring a close to all that we no longer need. This is going to help us spring forward in the right direction with clarity and positivity and will help us all to feel a burst of fresh energy and inspiration.

Pay attention to what transpires for you around the Black Moon, for it is sure to be guiding you towards your highest path.”

Happy Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse!

moon-art-by-josephine-wall

“The Lunar Eclipse in Pisces is an emotional high tide. It makes me think of being on a surfboard, scudding across a beast of a wave as the crest begins to fold and you’re wondering whether you’re going to stay upright or be flung head over heels by the force of the water.
The Moon is in a tight conjunction to Chiron which means we are very sensitive to being hurt. In Pisces we are wide open with no defenses, especially as the Moon squares warrior Mars.
In fact, it may be the case that we are pushed to let down our defenses and really allow ourselves to feel.
Chiron is both the one who wounds and the one who heals the wound. The wound itself is the way to healing – like cutting open an infected sore until it bleeds clear…knowing that sometimes the path to healing must begin with a painful cut…
And our part is to surrender, to accept that healing is needed and necessary, to put trust in the universe that what comes is for our benefit.
There is something sacred about this painful process. The Gods haven’t abandoned us, they are carrying us. They are the giant wave beneath our feet…”

Happy potent Aquarius Full Moon!

Moon art by Wendy Ortiz

“Aquarius, the Water Bearer is an air sign known for its intellectual insights and astounding intelligence. The waters that Aquarius pours forth to humanity are those of insight, energy and creative intelligence. These waters are given without expectation of anything in return. Aquarius takes its energetic reserves and brings them forward to share with all of life. Not known for being an outwardly emotional sign, Aquarius cares deeply about equality and humanitarian causes. A sign known for its astute and searingly honest insights, Aquarius wants to understand how systems work and how to make them work as efficiently as possible. Aquarius doesn’t rely on the thinking of the group to form its opinion. It is able to do that through the gathering, weighing and understanding of all the evidence it can acquire. Aquarius is a fixed sign. Fixed signs hold the center. They are sturdy. They are solid. Aquarius is sturdy, solid and confident in its visions. Aquarius is the Seer of the zodiac. This full moon is reminding us to take those visions to heart. This full moon is sitting in a sextile to Uranus, the planet that awakens us, sends lightening bolts of insight to us and can sharpen our perception by disrupting our illusions with the truth. A sextile is subtle and supportive. Through this sextile the moon is transmitting the energies of rebellion, revolution and breaking free in a way that appears more seamless and less chaotic than this planet usually is. It could be a moon that helps us to break up or chip away at the psychic calcium that collects when we become overly rigid or unwilling to allow life to live itself through us. Give way to what is coming through you.”

Happy New Moon!

Art by Kali Ciesemier

“Feeling on edge? Tangled up and entwined? The unsettling summer of 2016 is about to take an intense new twist.  The new moon of August 2nd administers a potent medicine that can usher us into the light of liberation  – if we are ready for its healing venom.

The new moon will be in the area of the sky known as Ashlesha, the kundalini snake star of wisdom. This mystical naga-snake offers a formidable healing power. As It slithers through its subconscious terrain, it exposes hidden fears and desires, and can ultimately free us from disempowering beliefs.

Ashlesha is situated at the edge of a subtle ocean in the watery sign of Cancer, and serves as a gateway into the fiery sign of Leo. In Vedic Astrology we call this important point gandanta; meaning “karmic knot.”  It is a breaking point in the Zodiac and an important threshold of transformation. This lunar cycle offers an opportunity to break through our knots – our habits and negativities – and expand light into the darkness of ignorance.

Remember that when light increases, so do shadows.  For highly sensitive individuals this new moon may feel stressful, especially for those who suffer from anxiety or depression.   Take it easy on yourself if you are feeling overwhelmed and if you know someone who is suffering at this time do not hesitate to reach out and lend support.
On a personal level this new moon cycle is a wake up call for us all. Take time in the days to come to check in with your heart.  This is a time in which we can truly reconfigure our attitudes toward ourselves and the world, including the shadowy parts that we reject. This new moon shows us how the poison that we fear can also be a powerful healing medicine.”

Happy Full Moon!

“It’s a dramatic time on Earth. Yet we always have access to our ground of being. Now’s the time to claim it. Imagine a cord of light flowing from bottoms of your feet, your sacral, and deep into the Mother Earth. Make it as big as a tree trunk if you need, then spread it out like tree roots. Release any anxieties and fears you’re holding in your body. Let them go. Feel into the space holding your Divinity…

Capricorn Full Moon is a time for remembering who we truly are. Know this: You have spiritual roots. They run deeper and truer than what is playing out in the world today. Spirituality is a process of rediscovery, and with Saturn square Neptune we can’t afford to keep our divine identity separate from our earthly one.

We are more than our skin color, professions, roles, gender, beliefs and feelings. We are divine beings on unique spiritual journeys, and we are all One. With sea goat, let’s dive deep into the Mother Earth, allow her to hold us in this cradle of memory. Let’s reconnect to and re-claim who we already are.”
