What a beautiful gesture this is for the homeless. Makes me so happy to see them treated with such dignity.
“In the house of lovers, the music never stops, the walls are made of songs & the floor dances.” ~Rumi
“Be soft. Do not let the world make you hard. Do not let pain make you hate. Do not let the bitterness steal your sweetness. Take pride that even though the rest of the world may disagree, you still believe it to be a beautiful place.” ~KURT VONNEGUT
Pearl Berlin and Lennie Gerber have been together for 48 years. Married in Maine in 2013, their marriage still wasn’t recognized in their home state of North Carolina so they became lead plaintiffs in a federal lawsuit against the Tar Heel State’s gay-marriage ban and won. Love these ladies!
“I believe that marriage isn’t between a man and woman but between love and love.” ~Frank Ocean
“Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable… Every step toward the goal of justice requires sacrifice, suffering, and struggle; the tireless exertions and passionate concern of dedicated individuals.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
Beautiful solidarity for Mike Brown in NYC tonight. And many other cities as well. Much love to all the beautiful people out there who felt called to stand up for justice. Power to the people!
Michael Brown’s family has released the following statement~
“We are profoundly disappointed that the killer of our child will not face the consequence of his actions.
While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change. We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen.
Join with us in our campaign to ensure that every police officer working the streets in this country wears a body camera.
We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful. Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction.
Let’s not just make noise, let’s make a difference.”
