“I began to understand that suffering and disappointments and melancholy are there not to vex us or cheapen us or deprive us of our dignity but to mature and transfigure us.” ~Hermann Hesse Posted on June 3, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in Art, General, Quotes Leave a comment Art by Nelly Tsenova

“We have to shift our attitude of “ownership” of Nature to “relationship” with Nature. The moment you change from ownership to relationship, you create a sense of the SACRED.” ~ Satish Kumar Posted on June 3, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in Check It Out, General, Quotes 2 Comments
“No matter what arises for you on this Full Moon, it is the perfect time for you to go within and bring light and illumination to all that no longer serves you and the un-truths you have been carrying around. It is time to take the rose colored lenses off and really see all that you are, bare, raw and beautiful. This may be confronting but if you are willing to take the responsibility, open your heart and dive in, you will be amazed at where this Full Moon energy will take you.” ~Tanaaz, Forever Conscious Posted on June 2, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in General, Moon Leave a comment Happy Full Moon!
Andre McDonnell, who works in New York City’s fashion district, began giving away new athletic shoes to homeless people about three years ago, using the personal touch of hand delivery– usually in Grand Central and Penn Stations where many congregate. His one-man charity outreach, “It’s From the Sole,” distributed 4,000 pairs of sneakers last year alone. The inspiration for his work struck the Brooklyn man while he was playing basketball one summer and noticed a homeless man walking in the streets without shoes. Suddenly compelled to help, he walked over and gave the man the shoes off his feet, and a clean pair of socks he had in a bag. He has been “outfitting” the less fortunate ever since. “Children coming forth today have a greater capacity to deal with the greater variety of information that is coming forward than you did. They deliberately are coming forth into this environment where there is more to contemplate. This generation gap that you are talking about, it has ever been thus. Each new generation, every new individual, that comes forth, is coming with you having prepared a different platform for them to proceed from. There is this thing that gets in the way of that that says, “I’m the parent. I got here first. I know more than you do.” From the children’s perspective, and from the purity of their Nonphysical Perspective, what they are saying is, “You’re the parent. You got here first. You prepared a platform that I am leaping off from — and my leap will be beyond anything that you have ever known.” ~Abraham Posted on May 27, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in Art, General, Quotes Leave a comment
“There’s a concerted effort to bring bees back onto the planet … We do not realize that they are the foundation, I think, of the growth of the planet, the vegetation… I have so many flowering things and I have a gardener too. Because she takes care of the bees too, all she does is figure out, ‘OK, what would they like to have?’, so we’ve got acres and acres of clover, we’re planting stuff like lavender, I’ve got like, maybe 140 magnolia trees, big blossoms.” Beautiful. “What if the fortress walls tumbled down? yes, the real ones and the ones imagined, and what if — instead — they formed foot-paths through the truth of our own, inner primeval forest with barred owl calls calling to us as we place one foot in front of the other taking one step and contemplating the next until we find rhythm with our own breath? the paces that grace us would lead us — just footsteps these well-worn stones — would lead us home. and… what if cathedrals of our hopes and fears built up and fortified over hundreds of years — these too would come down and make pavers instead of saviors to mark the way through our own forest — one day?” ~Unknown Posted on May 26, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in Art, General, Quotes Leave a comment Art by Dan May
“Memorial Day should be a day for putting flowers on graves and planting trees. Also, for destroying the weapons of death that endanger us more than they protect us, that waste our resources and threaten our children and grandchildren.” ~Howard Zinn Posted on May 25, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in General, Quotes, Street Art Leave a comment Banksy Street Art from Palestine
“Flowers are love embodied. Look deeply at the color. Feel the vibrancy. Put your nose a little closer. Look deeply. Fall inside. Start your life over right here, right now, inside a flower. Make a new decision. Then feel again. Decide you are okay right here now.” ~LAO TZU Posted on May 24, 2015 by underthebluedoor Posted in Art, General, Quotes 2 Comments Art by Hasebe Yutaka
