“Everyone whose eyes are open knows the world is in an enormous crisis. As many of us as possible need to undergo a massive transformation of consciousness and to find the sacred passion to act from this consciousness in every arena and on every level of reality. It is my deepest belief that only Sacred Activism – the fusion of the deepest mystical knowledge, peace, strength, and stamina with calm, focused, and radical action – can possibly be of use now. A mysticism that is only private and self-absorbed leaves the evils of the world in tact and does little to halt the suicidal juggernaut of history. And any Activism that is not purified by a profound spiritual vision and psychological self-awareness and rooted in divine truth, wisdom, and compassion will only perpetuate the problem it is trying to solve, whatever it’s righteous intentions. When, however, the deepest and most grounded mystical vision is married to a practical and pragmatic drive to transform all existing political, economic, and social institutions, a holy force and power of wisdom in action is born, a force and power that can re-fashion all things and bring humanity, even at this late hour, into harmony with its self and original nature. This force of Sacred Activism I believe will be the source of the birthing power that humanity will need to create a new world from the smoking ashes of the one that is now passing away.” ~ Andrew Harvey
Connecting to the Earth’s energy is essential for our mind, body, and spirit. One great way to do this is by walking barefoot outside for at least 10 minutes each day. Staying grounded during these times of transition is especially important. Much love to you and to Mother Earth!
Tens of Thousands Gather In London to Protest Against Israeli Military Action. Protests for Peace in Palestine are happening all around the Globe. So beautiful to see. The tide is definitely turning.
“Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one. I hope someday you’ll join us, and the world will be as one.” ~John Lennon
Another awesome spoken word piece by Climbing PoeTree, featuring Leah Song & Biko Casini (from Rising Appalachia). Enjoy!
Amen brother. I honestly cannot imagine how or when the lives of innocent children became an acceptable price to pay for war.
Speaking out for Palestine is the right thing to do despite the fact that it causes a lot of anger in those who have bought into the pro Israel propaganda that has been so heavily fed to us for ages. So many people still get their news from the mainstream media and have no idea what is really happening. The band Coldplay received harsh criticism and backlash this week after suggesting their fans check out the song below. Give it a listen… and never be afraid to speak your truth. Especially when it is in support of human rights.
“The Palestinians in Gaza live in conditions that now replicate those first imposed on Jews by the Nazis in the ghettos set up throughout Eastern Europe. Palestinians cannot enter or leave Gaza. They are chronically short of food—the World Health Organization estimates that more than 50 percent of children in Gaza and the West Bank under 2 years old have iron deficiency anemia and reports that malnutrition and stunting in children under 5 are “not improving” and could actually be worsening. Palestinians often lack clean water. They are crammed into unsanitary hovels. They do not have access to basic medical care. They are stateless and lack passports or travel documents. They live with massive unemployment. They are daily dehumanized in racist diatribes by their occupiers as criminals, terrorists and mortal enemies of the Jewish people.”
~Chris Hedges
This quote from the awesome Chris Hedges, came before the massive onset of violence currently being inflicted on Gaza. Freedom for Palestine!
