“Gratitude, like faith, is a muscle. The more you use it, the stronger it grows, and the more power you have to use it on your behalf. If you do not practice gratefulness, its benefaction will go unnoticed, and your capacity to draw on its gifts will be diminished. To be grateful is to find blessings in everything, This is the most powerful attitude to adopt, for there are blessings in everything.” ~ Alan Cohen

This is an awesome song by Esperanza Spalding that calls for the closure of Guantánamo Bay. Spalding is joined by Harry Belafonte, Stevie Wonder, Janelle Monae and others in demanding human rights for the detainees – many of them being held indefinitely at the military prison without fair trials. She commented on her passion for the cause of freedom for the 164 prisoners being held at the U.S. base in Cuba during a recent chat with the Wall Street Journal: “I don’t have any prison experience, but it’s really hard to fathom being imprisoned in a place against your will and not to be charged with anything, not to have the ability to defend yourself, and to be there indefinitely.”
