Everyone has an angel, a guardian who watches over us. We can’t know what form they’ll take: One day old man. Next day, little girl. But don’t let appearances fool you. They can be as fierce as any dragon. Yet they’re not here to fight our battles, but to whisper from our heart, reminding us it is us, it’s everyone of us who holds the power over the worlds we create. We can deny our angels exist, convince ourselves they can’t be real. But they show up anyway, at strange places, and at strange times. They can speak through any character we can imagine. They’ll shout through demons if they have to, daring us, challenging us to fight.

If you were to cut open a chrysalis as the butterfly develops, you might expect to find a partly formed butterfly inside. But this isn’t the case. Inside is an unrecognizable “mush” – the gray protoplasm that will reconstruct itself and ultimately emerge as a butterfly. This ugly sticky stuff has all the elements necessary to create great beauty. It just takes time. We need to decide that it’s okay for us to be in this unsure, uncomfortable place. In fact, most of the time it’s exactly where we need to be. It is a necessary period of growth in the achievement of any significant, life-altering change. Step into the mush.

In what is possibly an infinite Universe, it is impossible to know if you have all the facts. So if you want the truth, you must always remain open to new information, even if it contradicts the current model/consensus. That doesn’t mean you have to believe one way or the other, it just means not dismissing anything because it doesn’t fit with what you think you know. Science is not a static thing in its own right, but a method of discovery in which the accepted model is always open to re-evaluation.
