“We will not build a peaceful world by following a negative path. It is not enough to say we must not wage war. It is necessary to love peace and sacrifice for it. We must concentrate not merely on the negative expulsion of war but on the positive affirmation of peace. We must see that peace represents a sweeter music, a cosmic melody, that is far superior to the discords of war.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

“Women, you carry so much for us. You carry our burdens, you carry our pains, you carry our fears. You carry us for 9 months and never stop. You also carry our hopes. You carry our dreams, and you carry the sacred fire. You carry the light of our future. And the truth…the truth is you have been punished. Held down, and treated like second hand citizens. Any respect you have, any rights, you have had to work for, fight for and assert daily. You don’t get paid as much, you don’t get promoted as often and your intuition has been mocked, and even punished. You have suffered for centuries under the thumb of men who fear your power. Because your power, your truth, your fire, when unleashed, will lead us into an entirely new world. If it were your voices being heard these past decades our planet would be in a very different condition. We would have clean air for our young people as they run and play. We would have clean water for them to drink. And we would have clean soil to feed our children well. The time has come: we need your voices, we need your strength, more now than ever. You carry so much for us, now it’s time to lift yourselves. Raise yourselves, and speak. You are the true strength in the world: the strength of life. And that’s what others fear. They fear that you will end the insanity we’re locked in because they can’t see a different kind of reality. All they see is: I gotta get mine before there’s none left. Of course, they are talking about the total depletion of the earth, after which we will have nothing. It’s a path that leads to the destruction of the world as we know it. We need you – mothers, sisters, daughters – more than ever. We need you. Our children need you. The world needs you. You are beautiful, you are intelligent, and you are wise. Men are not your enemies, they are your sons. And we need your love, your guidance, your intuition. You can reshape this world. You can make it a paradise. You. And you can do it without stepping on anyone else. You can do it in partnership, the way it is meant to be. Step into your power. And never, ever let anyone take it from you again.” ~ Aaron Paquette

“Child. Listen to me. Open up your heart for a moment and listen. You don’t need to banish your anger or bury your grief and sadness. The fact that you may feel anger about some injustice or inequity; the fact that you have the capacity to feel grief and sadness means that life still touches you. Learn to trust the wisdom-river flowing beneath the river of these emotions. Learn to walk with your depression, your anxiety, your anger as a teacher and a friend. The fact that you feel means that you care. The thing you *really* have to watch out for is indifference. The ones who don’t feel anything are the ones who are destroying the world.” ~ doña Río de Gracian

“People only get really interesting when they start to rattle the bars of their cages.” ~ Alain de Botton

“Anything else you’re interested in is not going to happen if you can’t breathe the air and drink the water. Don’t sit this one out. Do something.” ~Carl Sagan

“This is a society, a world, a planet dying because there is not enough consciousness, because there is not enough awareness, enough coordination of intent-to-problem. And yet, we spend vast amounts of money stigmatizing people and substances that are part of this effort to expand consciousness, see things in different ways, unleash creativity. Isn’t it perfectly clear that business as usual is a bullet through the head?” ~ Terence McKenna

“From this hour I ordain myself loos’d of limits and imaginary lines.” ~ Walt Whitman

“But now the Goddess is returning, she is making her way up, and people without eyes to see will be completely in the dark about the journey of women all around them. As the Goddess begins to make her claim on them, there will be more, rather than fewer, girls who appear to make no sense. The Goddess makes a dramatic entry. When a system is flooded with new and radical impressions, it seems to implode before making a quantum leap forward into something different. Thus there are millions of girls who are depressed to a degree beyond what their families and friends find normal, but who are actually undergoing the feminine journey into full and actualized consciousness. One day they will be Queens, and the transition wouldn’t have happened had they not cracked up when they did.” ~Marianne Williamson

“…In any Dark time, there is a tendency to veer toward fainting over how much is wrong or un-mended in the World. Do not focus on that. There is a tendency, too, to fall into being weakened by dwelling on what is Outside your Reach, by what cannot yet be. Do not focus there. That is spending the wind without raising the sails…. Ours is not the task of fixing the entire World all at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach. Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely. It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom, will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good….. What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale. One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these – to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity ….there can be no despair when you remember why you came to Earth, who you serve, and who sent you here. The good words we say and the good deeds we do are not ours. They are the words and deeds of the One who brought us here. In that spirit, I hope you will write this on your wall: When a great ship is in harbor and moored, it is safe, there can be no doubt. But that is not what great ships are built for.” ~Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes
