“I’m worried that students will take their obedient place in society and look to become successful cogs in the wheel – let the wheel spin them around as it wants without taking a look at what they’re doing. I’m concerned that students not become passive acceptors of the official doctrine that’s handed down to them from the White House, the media, textbooks, teachers and preachers.” ~Howard Zinn
“Let my soul smile through my heart and my heart smile through my eyes, that I may scatter rich smiles in sad hearts.” ~Paramahansa Yogananda
“Just like it requires billions of pebbles for a mountain to be constructed with ease, so is WORLD PEACE constructed by billions of souls with inner peace.” ~Kirk Nugent, Uplift the City
“The only time you look in your neighbor’s bowl is to make sure that they have enough. You don’t look in your neighbor’s bowl to see if you have as much as them.” ~ Louis C.K.
Love this so much. So beautiful to watch how many people are helping and giving back in their communities. We are all in this together. One love!
Legendary music producer Brian Eno has published an open letter, which serves as a blistering critique of Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. Eno, formerly of Roxy music, who has produced some of the greatest albums by the likes of David Bowie, U2 and many other big names, came down hard on Israel for their attacks, which have to date killed more than 1400 Palestinians, 80% of them civilians and a third children. You can check out the link to his letter below. His letter asks some important questions and I am inspired by his courage to speak out.
“Begin to think of yourself as a Divine limitless being rather than a person who doesn’t have choice when it comes to your thoughts. Think of yourself as an observer, contemplating and selecting thoughts that you choose from that never-ending stream of thoughts on your inner screen, 24/7/365. I’m encouraging you to initiate a habit of choosing thoughts and ideas that support feeling good and powerful, and that elevate you to a higher level of consciousness where your self-concept welcomes your higher self.” ~Dr. Wayne W. Dyer
“Someday, after we have mastered the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness the energy of love. And for the second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire.” ~ Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
“The Kingdom of Heaven is not a place, but a state of mind.” ~John Burroughs
In this short video clip, Anita Moorjani (author of Dying to Be Me) talks about her well documented near-death experience with lymphoma and how it helped her to understand what our illnesses can teach us and what really matters most in our lives.
